The Fortunate Mis-hap...

Today while we were cleaning the house we found a problem we were not prepared for. Kevin was working on cleaning the bathrooms (the chore a hate the most) and I was in the kitchen doing dishes. I emptied the dishwasher and then proceeded to wash some pots and pans in the sink. When I stepped close to the sink I felt a little water on the floor. My first thought was; "I must have spilled some water while I was empting the dishwasher." So I went on washing dishes. When I was finished I pulled the plug on the sink. Next thing I knew, there was a lake in our kitchen... coming from under the sink. I called to Kevin, "Kevin, I think we have a problem." To which he replied "We don't have time for this right now." You see, Kevin's brother, his wife and their four daughters are arriving from Las Vegas today for Christmas, and we will have his grandma, mom and dad, sister Katie, her husband Marc and their baby Lucy here for Christmas. Of course we thought the worst... a burst pipe. After cleaning all the "junk" from under the sink we realized it was the dispose-all leaking. We have been having problems with it not disposing the food anyway, so we decided we would run to Home Depot and replace it. I asked Kevin if he thought he could do it himself or if he knew someone who could help him. He called his dad's cousin Scott, who lives here in Tooele. Scott promptly came over, I ran to Home Depot- twice, and we had a new higher horse power dispose-all. We were so greatful to Scott for helping us out of our jam- he has been really good about doing that for us many times. We got to talking to Scott and he said, "you guys have a lot of room in your basement, you could put a home gym down here. I have a treadmill I'm not using." It ended up that he also had a stationary bike he wasn't using and a weight lifting set. Kevin went over to pick up the treadmill- to help Scott out and get it out of his dining room, and came back with all three pieces. So, our unfortune sink problem turned into a fortunate event for us. We now have a home gym in our basement and the fee is only $5 a week... just kidding. The agreement with Scott is he will come over here to use the equipment and we will "store" it for him. We are hoping it will help us out too!
