Thanksgiving... and the aftermath

First, let me say- I forgot the digital camera at Thanksgiving, but Kevin bought a desposible camera, so when we get those pictures I will post them here...
Thanksgiving this year was a little different for us. Kevin had to work from 11am to 4pm. So I was home alone. I went to the store and bought the groceries to make the beans for dinner and then decided to go to a movie, a family tradition. I saw Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium. I thought it was so cute. But it was a little weird to be at the movie by myself. Kevin called just as the movie was ending and told me they were letting him off work early because the airport was just dead. I ran home, got the stuff for dinner, picked up Kevin and then we went to Scott and Amy's house in Syracuse. We were a couple hours early so we were able to play with the kids and hang out with Scott and Amy. We had a great feast! Amy's mom Suzi was there. Scott's mom Chris was there, Scott's sister Jenni and her husband Greg and their kids Sidney and Taylor were all there. We had a little crowd... My favorite dish this year was Jenni's stuffing, which is funny because I like stuffing but it has never been a favorite. The stuffing had apples and craisins in it, the next time I see Jenni I will get the recipe. I have been craving it since Thanksgiving. After dinner and desert (a feast in itself) we sat around and talked and had a lot of fun. We sure love spending time with Scott and Amy and their families!
The day after Thanksgiving is one of my favorite days to shop! So this year I decided I was going to do it again. But the more I thought about it I wasn't so sure, so I convinced myself that I didn't NEED to go to all the stores, Wal-mart had the two things I really wanted so that would do. I set my alarm for 3:30 AM, when I woke up at 5 AM I realized my clock was set for PM instead of AM. After a little wavering I decided I would still go, there was still a chance what I wanted would be available. I got to Wal-mart and actually was able to get the two things a wanted. It was amazing to me what a buying frenzy people get into on that day. I realized that all these years I've been getting caught up in it too, it's a good realization. I figured maybe the extra sleep helped me to think more clearly. Next year I'll still go, because I HAVE to, but I'll not get so caught up (we'll see).

it sounds like you guys had a fun day, I wish we could have spent some of the day wit you. We also you went to Mr. Magoriums wonder emporium, although we didn't get to watch the whole thing because Dax does not like sitting still, we did enjoy what we saw. We miss you guys and can't wait to see you in January! Love you! oh by the way I like your new layout.
